Protect Gunbarrel's Local Wildlife Through the Creation of a Greater Twin Lakes Open Space - Stop City Annexation and High Density Growth

Any study on the parcel that doesn't include the lakes, canals and marshes in the surrounding area will be limited as these areas are all connected. There is never I time when I visit the lakes (once or twice a week), where I don't see lots of wildlife. The abundance of wildlife is due to the diversity of the area which includes the lakes, marshes, canals and fields. It should be obvious to anyone who understands natural ecosystems that the destruction of any one of these elements will have a large negative impact on the entire area.

The entire proposal appears to be particularly poorly thought out. It's the kind of worst case compromise solution that is a hallmark of decisions driven by politics and special interests.

Create a Gunbarrel Open Space. We do not want further development of the Twin Lakes and NO Annexation.

We have had more than enough development in the Gunbarrel area during the past two years. It seems like Boulder is "dumping" it's housing problems outside the downtown bubble. Let's just keep our Boulder development where it is before it becomes an ugly commercial/residential blight on it's beauty. I demand that Boulder politicians and developers back off the Gunbarrel area now!

How many housing units in the city limits of Gunbarrel were allowed to opt out of Affordable Housing? All, is the answer. The city gave away all of their housing units for money, now they want to annex the county land to the city. How do we know they won't choose to take the money again. The county needs to stand up and protect the land as open space and be better stewards than the city has been.

This area is where I grew up. Swimming in the lakes and playing Huck Finn. It is a treasured memory. Now my kids play there, and we all LOVE going to see the baby owls every year

Metaphorically this is a great city that means well trying to fit the affordable housing foot into the open space shoe. It is not a good fit!

Please don't take away our open space. This subdivision cannot handle a huge population increase. The infrastructure is not sufficient. There have been numerous water main breaks! Please don't do this! Would you allow this to happen in your neighborhood??
