The San Francisco Planning Department wants to
make some serious bottleneck changes on Dolores Street. The Planning
Department is proposing to reduce the first quarter of Dolores Street @ Market
to a ONE LANE on each side of the Dolores Street median, which by the
way is also part of El Camino Real, California State Landmark #784.
Tell the city that you do not want them to alter this historic landmark.
The building going up at this particular site
(2001 Market street) will house a new Whole Foods store and 80 condos above
with 0.5 parking spaces per condo unit. The Mission Dolores Neighborhood
Association (www.missiondna.org) along with many local residents & vendors
believe that a one lane at this location will cause dramatic traffic and
parking problems for years to come. Please sign our online petition and
force the SF Planning department to keep all four lanes open on Dolores Street,
so traffic can flow around this new development site without huge backups in
all directions.
traffic is already a total nightmare in this city. reducing lanes here is just gonna make everything worse for people who actually have to drive to work. leave the roads alone!
