Invest in providing the resources needed to help children, not incarcerate them.

Thank you for organizing this petition. I can't believe anyone even considers this "plan" an option. You need zero experience in the mental health field to know how damaging this is going to be to these young adults.

DOJ can possibly bring a lawsuit under CRIPA.

Dear Gov. Edwards,
Surely a more life giving choice can be found to house these children who have already been traumatized by their life circumstances. Angola is not a place of healing and that is what these children need. Would you place your children, nieces or nephews in such a place? For God's sake, take another look at the possibilities for these kids! Come up with something much better!
Thank you and may your choices be blessed.

Temporary or not, find a better way!! this decision perpetuates psychological harm / trauma and is unacceptable. Find another way!!

This is something a third world country might consider, but not the US.

Where is your humanity? There is no way that children should be housed under these conditions!

We owe a duty of care to our youth that demands conditions that far exceed those of Angola.

Angola is no place for children who are already in crisis. This idea is cruel and frankly disgusting and it should not become a reality.

How inhumane and tragic to send minors into such violence and harrowing circumstances!

I was horrified to hear that the Louisiana's Governor is going ahead with moving juveniles to Angola in Death Row cells at a maximum security adult prison. Shame on John Bel Edwards!! We have to stop this!

Surely you can locate a better place to temporarily hold these children other than the campus of Angola prison?!

These children - I repeat children - need to be nurtured and rehabilitated not further punished.

Unbelievable (yet totally believable) move on the judge's part. Sending love to all the kids & families involved.

These kids need help and resources for themselves and their families, not to be locked up on death row. Find the money to keep them safely in appropriate facilities!

This decision is astonishing. Children don't belong in a maximum security facility, and they don't belong in single cells, and they don't belong at Angola prison.
Invest in providing the resources needed to help children, not incarcerate them.
