If we invest in our communities, our children will benefit. Adult prisons are no place for children.

How anyone can countenance this and still look at themselves in the morrow is totally beyond me. OR call themselves Christians.

Children will never recover from such an experience. Unless your goal is to have them be permanent residents in the prison system, please reconsider this bad decision.

As a teacher, I am horrified by this effort. Especially when in comes to children, the focus must be education and rehabilitation, not punishment.

Please DO NOT put juveniles in this prison. Respect the humanity and divinity of youth who have not fully matured into adults. There is another way.

This is criminal behavior. Maybe the governor should be sent to Angola instead.

You may think this "tough on crime"
pose makes a difference, but all the
legitimate studies prove that IT
DOESN'T. Sells well with your
constituency, though, doesn't it?
And who cares what happens to
the lives of those kids you treat
as capital felons; they're mostly
Black anyway (thanks to racist
policing and prosecuting), and us
clean, moral, (coincidently) White
citizens know there's too many of
them anyway, and they make too
much noise. As long as your
racist ass gets re-elected, nothing
else matters, right?

Gov. Edwards, your intention to consign children to death row cells in an adult maximum security prison violates the principal of our justice system that the sentence should match the crime. Before you take such a callous step, I suggest you spend 48 hours in one of those cells. You should know what it feels like before you condemn children to such a dangerous condition.

These kids need to be re-educated, not turned into criminals.
