I never received an email about dress code, and only found out about it this week through a friend, not the school. It's absolutely ridiculous that the school is putting in place a dress code without making it known to the student population, it is also ridiculous that the dress code was only issued 2 weeks before prom, us girls buy our prom dresses a month or more in advance so that we can have them tailored in time for the dance, and now the school's going to turn those girls away, girls who spent $100+ dollars on just their dress alone, not to mention transportation, hair, makeup, and tickets. Some of my friends are scared to ask the principal if their dress is appropriate, because they're afraid that it won't be and that they won't be able to attend prom.

FYI: the school didn't send the student body the email, only our parents! That's why so many people don't know about it!

This is unfair for the girls who bought their prom dresses months before this was released. I belive the student should be able to wear their dresses this year and then enforce the dress codes the following school year.

I haven't even heard of the dress code until the petition was posted. There is no way to inform everybody of the dress code! I checked my email and I didn't find anything, if they can't inform us they can't enforce it.

Dress code shouldn't be inforced. It's so close to prom. There's no way the stores would refund the money. Plus we're so spensive and transportation on how the students are getting there is a lot of stress and now the school is stressing us parents about dress code. Cuz my child is so worry if they don't let her in to prom.

The prom dress code is ridiculous and it's an interruption to a very fun and memorable night that ais for the students!! Not the teachers and we should all be able to feel beautiful and confident in a dress that we love withought worrying if the slits are too much or the cleavage is too low. All prom dresses have both of those & the dress code is extremely excessive and makes it harder on everyone.

I know at least a dozen people who bought their prom dresses MONTHS before prom and are now apparently in violation of the dress code. Yes, I understand why there is a dress code, but it is unreasonable to ask these girls to get a different dress as they are EXPENSIVE and NONREFUNDABLE. Spending $100-300 dresses is a lot of money, and simply asking to get a more appropriate dress is out of the question in terms of financial issues. If you want a dress code, fine. But issue it MONTHS before Prom, not TWO WEEKS before!!!
