It is an eyesore. How was this allowed?
The Square should be used for enticing people and business into the center of our town not to chase them away.

The square should be used to local crafts and food all year round, including Christmas time. It's a wasted space enough as it is without this awful money making shed in the way

Eyesore as you drive around by the square covering up our lovely fountain. It's expensive and pay parking is an issue during the day to increasing family event. Suoerquinn carpark or the field next to Tesco Extra would be better location. I personally hate seeing the ice rink I Christmas market for local arts, crafts, foods etc would be far nicer to have.

It's too late to do anything this year, but next year an alternative could be tried. The ice rink doesn't represent Christmas, there is no spirit of Christmas in the centre of town. Others here have suggested alternatives, the marshes would be a good place to put it. I remember when Clinton was in town, the night before there must have been at least 200 if not more listening to Brian Kennedy, there was an amazing buzz, one I have never experienced before or after. Something like that should be done, bring some atmosphere into the town, it wouldn't be that difficult. But when has the council ever done what the residents suggested.

Why not make Dundalk more Festive and also help local traders by NOT covering over our main Public space every Christmas, with such an eyesore as this? Several other locations it could go.

100% absolute eye sore, I know it's great for family etc for a bit of fun but the square is normally fantastic at Christmas and the fountain is fabulous, why can't they put it somewhere like in the car park of the ice dome until something is sorted there??
