It's an eyesore in our square. We should be able to enjoy the fountain in our beautiful square during Christmas time. Why not erect it in Boyds car park. Still in the centre of town.

I think the ice rink is an eye sore, and taking away from the great space you have, that you could have a lovely Christmas market at weekends in run up to Christmas, and generate some work for young people and make some money along the way for the Town.

An alternative place around the corner in the demesne could be used and a proper market at the "Market" square would be better. It's an eyesore and doesn't bring any business to the Town centre.

I wonder how much the council is making on this? I am sure greed is behind it. Pushing local traders out has always been their goal, Christmas market is the way forward.

Last year my son almost broke his leg when one of those cheap benches they had outside the rink collapsed and they did nothing! They just left the bench there after we told them what happened for other kids to use. It's unsafe, the ice isn't well maintained at all, and it's overpriced.

Passed by it when they were erecting and said what a waste of money and an eyesore. The one that was built a few ago didn't last long either. Council have a habit of wasting money anyway.

What's the point? I've been once and sure it's fun for 30 mins but that's it. An open air food market would be better, it would attract more people.

Nice idea but destroys the heart of the town, large white elephant, operates at a loss and the council picks up the tab. What about putting a smaller rink on the green area opposite Owen Gray Jewellers ..

As much as the ice rink is of great enjoyment for the children it would be best suited elsewhere. The square is a beautiful centrepiece in the town and a lovely Christmas market would be much better suited. The ice rink is a terrible eye sore and looks like a massive shed.
