The idea of an ice rink to pull people into town makes sense. However, it's in the wrong place. The previous open-air rink left plenty of space for stalls and kept the beautiful lighted fountain working. Either go back to a smaller rink or relocate the rink elsewhere - Boyd's carpark would still bring people into town.

My family love going ice skating at the rink. We went 3 times last year. However, it should not be located at the Market Square. It is ugly and absolutely ruins the look of the square during a time when we should be showing the town off to Christmas visitors (and just to enjoy the space ourselves!). The rink should be put in the old Superquinn carpark, which has plenty of parking for skaters too.

Hate the ice rink. It was not too bad for the first week of the first year but I miss the square and it could be filled with local and close stalls and be a proper xmas market which would bring more people to the town and feel so much more festive. It’s now an eyesore and puts me off even going near the town centre

Absolute disgrace having this again! Rejection of the rink has been echoed for a number of years now, actually try and listen to the people of Dundalk as oppose to the ones handing you those Christmas bonuses( brown envelopes )

I just feel like it takes away from the look of the square a bit. Would be lovely to see the fountain lit up over Xmas with lights. It would be more suited to a location where the circus is held, around maybe Tesco or the Marshes.
