We used to live in the Freedom cluster and my older son was bused to Stone Hill MS before Lunsford opened. We had difficulty getting to and from evening events due to high traffic. Without activity buses now you are putting an undue burden on parents in our neighborhood who face (at least) an hour and a half round trip to pick their students up from after-school activities. These and other factors led to a feeling of disconnect and interloping upon Stone Hill MS. Middle school is difficult enough, feeling so disconnected from your school is socially and emotionally damaging to children. We now live in the Champe cluster and my kids are at Champe~ they will not be effected by this change; HOWEVER, I beg that the school board does not accept this option so that students in my new community can have a more positive middle school experience than my son did when he was bused to Stone Hill from 2010-2011.

My child cannot be on a bus without an epi-pen or an adult trained to administer an epi-pen in rush hour traffic for 40 mins. Simply put, option 3 puts my child's life in jeopardy on a daily basis just to get to school.

Option 3 just doesn't make any sense. Why would anyone want to send their kids to a school half an hour away when there is another one few minutes away? It's not fair to the kids or the families in KPF and VM. Hope logic prevails!

Ridiculous is an understatement. Take one of the neighborhood FARTHEST from Ashburn and make them travel north across the 50? Seriously? The traffic is insane and will seriously hamper any involvement by parents in the schools. Our family will not be able to travel that far for sports, after school clubs, or any other school activities....it's just too far. Period. Our kids and their school experience should not suffer because of the school board's lack of proper planning. Option 3 is simply stupid and unacceptable. TRY AGAIN.

Why should my kid suffer for LC poor planning?
Aren't schools planned based on new housing development? Please stop building new homes than moving kids around.
Primary issue - New housing communities are being built prior to schools being planned/built. STOP BUILDING NEW HOMES. Else, all kids have to be constantly moved around.

The distance and commute is much too long for kids at this age; it disrupts their eating and sleeping schedule. The proposition of rezoning to this extent is simply preposterous.

I am against this! This affects my children and 40 minutes to get to and from school is too far for a child to be on a bus twice daily and in a emergency parents can't get to the school quick enough to be with them in the time of need!!!
