bad for already terrible traffic on SSR, horrible for the environment, bad for the surrounding homes, parks & business, bad for out of towners who will not know how to deal with sudden flooding... good for only 1 person: a greedy developer with no concern for any of these issues attempting to skirt the usual protocols because the property is in the ETJ. If this was in the city limits proper, which practically speaking it is, this would have been killed dead right away. Developer says he wants input & to play nice with neighbors then extorts with a threat to make the hotel even bigger if he doesn't get his way & has to face further opposition. Wonder what he would do if someone proposed this in the backyard 1 of his million dollar + R.E. holdings? (Yes he is already stupid rich...check TCAD). Don't get "Kahned" by the rhetoric" This absolutely must be stopped.

This developer, Mr. Kahn, will set a precedent for development allowed on Spicewood Springs going north that will ruin this area, at the very least, and will definitely destroy habitats and the environment around his development. He makes threats (If he doesn't get City of Austin Utilities, he has plans (on paper) to build a taller hotel and build a four story sewage tank to be emptied and taken south. He will drill a well for water, what will this do to our water pressure and Bull Creek.??); he says he'll listen to the residents, but hasn't; he says he will keep a large area parkland, but if he has a chance to develop that part of the parcel he most likely will do it; he compares this to a National Park, which is not at all a fair comparison as this is comparing apples and oranges; he is just out to make money at any cost regardless of how it will affect the nature of the area; he will create a greater flood risk in this sensitive area; he totally disregards the will of the people in Austin and the surrounding area; and this hotel will increase an already crowded narrow, winding roadway creating a very unsafe condition. This hotel does NOT belong in the requested location. It belongs on a major highway and/or a commercial area!

Unchecked destruction of what is left of Austin has to stop somewhere. It should be before the bull creek area is destroyed as well. Ledger cliffs are beautiful and unique. Another hotel is neither.

The local on shores of Bull Creek Park is not appropriate. Mr. Kahn has said many things to get what he wants. All of which are lies. I've loved driving (and used to cycle) Old Spicewood Springs Road ever since I moved back to Austin in 2003 + chose to live nearby. Especially love to the hills, woods, creek, turns, stables, natural wildlife, plus Bull Creek Park. I also have friends who live in this area. A large hotel would ruin this area's Hill Country appeal, not to mention add even more ridiculous traffic.

The slightest rain already closes that bridge. Parking lot runoff will make it a disaster. Among all the other excellent reasons given by other signers.
