There has been a definite lack of transparency throughout this short process; therefore, I’m against the sale as it stands.

To the Commissioners who are truly concerned about local control over responses to health threats (as Mr. White has written he is), selling the hospital is only shifting more power away from locals and to outsiders.

This stands on the brink of being one of the dumbest, most short-cited, moves in this county. This is the opportunity for a decision that could turn this growing metropolitan area into something more than just a tourist destination, dependent on the forces of weather, or a retirement community.
With an independent, but ongoing relationship with the UNC health system...or a partnership with a system like Duke, this county can become another brilliant hub of medical progress, research & equitable health care. I have younger family members who are doctors, 2 of whom are now getting ready to leave Boston for Duke & UNC.. I think when this pandemic finally ends there are going to be many young medical people fleeing NYC & Boston. Many of then are going to want to be where there is a progressive approach to medical treatments, as well as possibly a school for study & expert resources. Get a grip, folks. This country is suffering RIGHT NOW from short-cited, greedy, poorly made decisions.

As a native Wilmingtonian and someone who has extensive experience in healthcare settings, I am puzzled by the Board of Commissioners actions. What is really driving them to do this and why are they speeding ahead with it?

Watch your bills skyrocket if Duke gets a hold of this hospital. (Sadly, I have first hand experience with Duke medical costs.)
This sale will result in higher health care costs for our residents. We need to put the brakes on the proposed sale until after the November election.
Can’t believe this sale was ever conceived in the first place
NO SALE
I whole heartedly and enthusiastically support No Hospital Sale. I'm grateful to Gene Merritt for being vigilant on behalf of the taxpayers.
Hospitals are needed in for everyone
No sale of NHRMC!

Stop the sale.
A referendum is the right thing to do.
