If the hospital is sold, the company that purchased it will want a return on their investment, especially a for-profit company. The main thing a for-profit company wants is to MAKE A PROFIT! The citizens of New Hanover County OWN THE HOSPITAL, not the Board of Commissioners. Lois Fox

3 people can sell a hospital knowing the majority of the citizens by far is against. If this is repersention of and for the people we are in sad, sad shape. Put it to a vote by the voters or better just forget it. Follow the money.

something doesn't smell right about this whole process. How did this ball start rolling, who was the person who proposed this idea. We did to pause and investigate the origin of the idea. There is no way that costs won't go up, it just never happens.

Why support the sale when there have been so many bad results with similar proposed arrangements elsewhere (e.g., Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia)?

NOT in favor of the sale. Our current hospital system should send their executives to Fairfax INOVA Hospital system in Fairfax, VA & see it as a model of what NHRMC should become.

the people of New Hanover County should have the right to decide on the sale of the hospital. Once it is privatized we the taxes payers will be the ones to have our taxes affected.

This economic necessity for change has not been shown in a clear manner.
Selling control means that profit, not New Hanover County residents, will be the long term main priority. Any future actions should reflect the will of the residents, not of the few managers, etc., who would be controlling the proceeds of the sale.
