Don't fix what isn't broken. The hospital is successful and provides wonderful care with happy employees. Don't screw that up by selling to a corporation that does not know this community and its needs and just wants money. Please!!

Do not sell OUR hospital. If you Mr. CEO cannot face the challenge of keeping this jewel on the path of continued excellence then quit! I cannot believe you all who are already counting what you will personally gain from disturbing the lives of 7000 employees are trying to do. I’ve heard you repeat the same thing at two public meetings and I am tired of hearing you whine and then pretend that this is going to be a great deal when it goes out of our hands to God knows how many different owners. And you talked about this glorious group that will examine all of the proposed buyers and select the excellent one. Who’s going to choose those experts?

For all the reasons cited by your experts and my own research, this is a terrible, awful, very bad idea.

This is the largest employer in the county. If the hospital is sold, the new owners will bring "efficiency experts" in and cutbacks will be taken. Our hospital will become about money and not care. Prices will go up, quality down. If it is not broken, don't try to fix it.

Selling would be a huge mistake and would not serve the citizens of this community. I can't believe it is even being considered. Please look close at who benefits from this sale!

No Sale of a Public Hospital that serves all citizens of NHC and surrounding counties. . The only ones that profit, I cant believe I say that word in the same sentence as Public Hospital is those that sit at the table. All the employees that are being led to the slaughter are being blinded. They will be sorry.

Doesn’t anyone remember the sale of Cape Fear Hospital in 1996 to Columbia HCA. Staff was cut. Prices went up. Indigent care decreased. Local control disappeared. Hospital leadership was replaced by Corporate employees. Profit skyrocketed and went to corporate shareholders. NHRMC bought the ghost of the hospital in 1999 for almost twice the purchase price. Can’t anyone remember???

The first casualty of War is Truth. The power brokers bulldozing us have hidden agendas. That is corporatocracy, not majority rules democracy. Their is no place for compassion in a Dog-Eat-Dog world.
