Tell the City of Portland and Multnomah County: No homeless camp/village near our schools and preschools!

Too close to the school! Our downtown is looking shabby enough & there are many other locations! People do need a place to call home...can't they expand Dignity Village?

Not convinced this is a good idea, especially next to an elementary school. With hundreds of other locations proposed, please check this location off the list.

bad idea, wrong place. St Johns has more than its fair share of low income and homeless facilities Why did the city kick Right to Dream out of downtown where it was already setup?

I do not appreciate the garbage and the crime that comes with these camps/ village. I do not feel safe

Please relocate this to one of the other 400 proposed areas and not right next to a school.

Terrible location.

The solution is not moving these people to a new location, it’s offering health care and a home for them. Sorry, our neighborhood is not up for grabs.

Please find a more suitable location. The proposed site is right next tona school, and adjacent to businesses and residential. I believe the City can do better!

I do NOT support this petition, and am deeply saddened by many of the comments posted here an on FB. A healthy community should do everything we can to come together to support all of our neighbors, whether you own, rent or are without a place to put your stuff. Many of these people, without a house, have called Portland and St John's home for a long time. They deserve respect, dignity and have just as much a right to space in the neighborhood, as I do. My wife and I own a house in St John's. We stand with the village and other neighbors who want to work together to make it successful. I'm not here to pick fights and pretend to be "holier than thou". I certainly don't have all of the answers regarding housing in Portland. But, I think our community can work together and rise to the challenge.

I’m all for the homeless having a safe space but in this instance it’s much to close to the school.

A homeless camp next to a school is a terrible idea. It’s likely that every individual in the camp will be suffering from a severe mental illness or recovering from a drug addiction. Unstable people like that should not be placed next to little kids. In my opinion it’s setting the stage for a terrible accident.

Please....Would you want a homeless village right by the gradeschool your children or grandchildren go to? Neither do we. Just because this isnt SW portland doesnt mean oir children deserve to be put in harms way.

No, to close to schools

This location is not appropriate for housing homeless. This will impact our schools and businesses and community. Yes all need a home but the location is going to bring more zombie trailers along RICHMOND Ave and become a nuisance to our community. We want our community to thrive and not be a magnet for more homeless and drug problems. What ever happened with the Wapato area. It’s a great space that could be a great center with in-house treatment and services and I heard transit would be available.

This is a completely inappropriate location for this village and don’t believe for a second that the church is doing this out of the goodness of their heart. It’s for the money and with complete disregard for the wishes of the majority of the neighborhood.

How bout moving them on delta park. I hear Portland meadows is gone plenty room
