No Hobo Pantry for the Corner of Brannon Stand and Flowers Chapel

Across from an elementary school? Not safe at all. The people who hang around gas stations are not people who should be that close to children.

Absolutely not. Number one target for armed robberies directly across from an elementary school!?! And when the school has to go on lock-down... Or worse yet the perpetrator runs to the nearest building which just happens to be the school. No. No. No.

This store would be too close to Hoghlands elementary. There are plenty of other service stations close to this location...this one is not needsd

No way! No reason to have a store across from a school, just to compete with the shell stations

I am against having Hobo Pantry that sells cigarettes and alcohol so close to an elementary school

I do not see a benefit of putting a gas station across the street from an elementary school. Traffic is already bad there. The possibility of accidents at that intersection will increase with yet another gas station built there and the possibility of kids being involved in those accidents will be increased. There's a gas station less than a mile up the road. My son goes to that school and I drop him off every morning in the already congested traffic. Not to mention the increased possibility of a malfunction in gas tanks or lines causing an explosion and putting the kids at that school in danger. You are also bringing in alcohol sales AND the chances of having an armed robber directly across the street from the school. Those things don't just happen at night. If you allow a gas station to be built there you are proving to the public that money is more important than the safety of the public and especially young kids. I oppose the building of a gas station across the street from Highlands Elementary School.

I am against the Hobo Pantry being built at Flowers Chapel Rd. and Brannon Stand. This will be directly across from Highlands Elementary School which raises safety concerns for our children. Additionally, the presence of this Hobo Pantry will be intrusive to our neighborhoods, with additional noise, lighting, and traffic. It is not needed as there is a Shell station that already exists one half mile away and a Dollar General a quarter mile away that provide the same services. Not to mention the reduced proprty values we can expect on our homes.

This area on Brandon Stand having a service station/carwash/convenience store does not benefit the surrounding area as another such service is provided within a short distance by Shell at 84 and Brannon Stand. The architectural design of this business can never "match" the surrounding homes, apartments or school, which will result in lower property values for the citizens of Dothan in that area.

Concern of alcohol sales being across the street from school. It would create traffic congestion in the area.

I vote against this this store. My kid goes to that school. There are 300 gas stations in Dothan they do not need one here to contest already congested traffic. The safety of our children matter more. There are 600 kids go to that school and have to be picked up and dropped off.

After an in-depth conversation with Mr. Shirley I am still not convinced that a C store will add value to our neighborhood or school.

Near a school? Really?

Please do not put the food pantry next to the school. It will create unnecessary anxiety for school children and parents and traffic and pedestrian concerns. Neighborhood schools are supposed to be a safe place nurturing childhood aspirations and dreams. It fails to be such when concerns and anxiety affect teachers and parents. I am sure there can be an alternate site which will make services available without disrupting the local school. Highlands Elementary school is part of the future of America. These young people can grow up to solve America's problems if given a safe place to explore and grow. Put the food pantry in another location. It's a needed service, but not at the expense of young innocents. Teach them community service but don't park it on top of them

I strongly oppose a gas station and convenience store at Brannon Stand and Flowers Chapel Rd, near the school and local residential neighborhoods. Certainly there must be a more compatible and profitable use of the property that is in keeping with the safety of the school, environment, and property values.

My daughter attends Highlands Elementary and I strongly disapprove of putting a gas station across the street. I feel that would jeopardize the children and administrations safety in several ways.

There is enough traffic on Brannon Stand as it is. I think this will add to the problem. More than likely this Hobo Pantry will look nice at first then become an eye sore. If it doesn't make the money it needs to be profitable, then it could possible become an empty structure.

I strongly oppose the hobo pantry at the corner of Brannon Stand and Flowers Chapel. I believe this demonstratesite poor decision making skills to allow this development in this particular location. This would be like putting a convenient store on the corner of Whatley and Deer path or across from Houston Academy. It is a proven statistic that such developments do not boost home value and it also attracts crime. Please do not let this development proceed. Unnecessary traffic will be unwelcomed. Thanks...
