If you want to destroy the credibility of your institution you should think twice not only from a reputational standpoint but from a financial standpoint.

I do not support Suno or its illegitimate and counterfeit practices. This does not coincide with Berklee's standards and ethics in my opinion.

I have degrees from both the Indiana University’s Jacob, School of Music and Berkeley College of Music and there is no place in either one of these schools for AI generated music . Maybe studied as one would study the, Art of War”, but not to be taught as a way to create music.

As a Berklee alumnus I am insulted that my alma mater has allowed this travesti into its curriculum
An institution such as Berklee should be in the forefront fighting for all artist's IP protection and legal framework that protect our already beat up profession. Sever all ties to AI platforms that steal from creators, stop feeding the machine.

Honestly this should be a slam dunk for any art school. If you want a machine to do it for you why go to school to learn? At great expense too! Ridiculous. I can't believe you allowed it in the first place.

AI usage all about increasing productivity and efficiency. But, in its usage across arts/music: it undermines the very core of what it means to be an artist/musician? Self-expression.

To paraphrase author (@AuthorJMac on Twitter) Joanna Maciejewska's famous quote, I don't want ai to do my composing, songwriting and orchestrating so that I can do laundry and dishes; I want ai to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do more composing, songwriting and orchestrating.
