I thought Berklee was about teaching music. Perhaps AI should replace those overpaid administrators considering they don't seem to understand what art is all about either. (Humanity)

Yes, AI can be useful as an assistant but not when it threatens all creators in the long run.

This is wrong on many levels. Do better, Berklee. You lose respect and tarnish your name by teaching what amounts to theft of many artists' works. Disrespectful, to say the least.

Real music, real art, can not be taken over by a machine that also severely harms the environment.

Don’t become shallow, lazy, and unimaginative. There are other places for AI use, not in art and music.

There is nothing artificial about human ingenuity. Even AI is a product of human ingenuity. outsourcing genius is not an option. This is about money as usual Thank you Kai

I am class of '87. This is historically one of THE most important petition everyone should sign. AI began as a dishonest project, vacuuming up creative content without paying a cent for it. No matter how impressive or tantalizing this technology appears, it is essentially a Trojan horse, raised by industry industry and not by the artist. As such it will always have profit seeking at its core. And while it operates in this fashion, prompt generated music robs young students of the ability to develop a direct connection to the spirit of music in the artistic sense. Yes AI will make us dumb and rob our agency while pretending to be our friend. It is David Copperfield and not Leonardo da Vinci. As far back as 1987 I have seen Berklee pivot towards increasingly commercial leanings, eventually going into real estate and becoming very very expensive. I do see a glimmer of hope. And if Berklee is smart they'll get of the sinking ship before it's too late. There will be a major fall out in the not too distant future where AI will collide with life in a major way. Perhaps when noone can make a living anymore except for a handful of trillionaires, perhaps if there is an invironmental collapse or a mental mass crisis. But when the day comes Berklee could "profit" from having seen it coming. Berklee can now course currect back to its original North star in its role to nurture and protect the artistic spirit of humanity in its most beautiful form: Music. Music is about the transformation of the soul. Come on Berklee ! Draw a line and grow a spine. See the light while there is still time. No Generative AI at Berklee !
