Ai songwriting classes are idiotic. Imagine going to a class on novel writing and they just sit you infront of ChatGPT.

Cash grab plain and simple.

This school's logo is quite ironic in this context; nothing's less natural than AI. Get it together, people!

As part of the Berklee Class of 2026, I support the cancellation of this course.

If AI songwriting is the future, people will not hire Berklee-trained composers to type in a prompt. They will do it themselves. However, people will always hire genuinely creative, skilled, and innovative composers. Teach students what they need to know, not what venture capital thinks they should know.

As someone that's been in the industry in varying professional to semi-professional quantities, seeing one of the biggest music schools drink the kool-aid on generative AI is pathetic. This is one of the worst things Berklee could have done regarding AI and they need to course correct immediately.

AI in the arts prevents artists from meanifully becoming masters of their craft

For a place as prestigious and expensive as Berklee, students should be taught how to elevate their craft *above* what LLM's can do. AI music is their competition, not their ally.

As a graduate and a professional, using these tools is a backwards step and unethical. Please stop these classes!
