As a former graduate, it is completely insane that this even became an option for a course to be taken. This is a disrespectful slap in the face not only to the students that go into debt and leave their families behind to be at the school but to Berklee's legacy as a premier music institution. What a shame.

It’s shameful and disgusting that Berklee ever even seriously considered this course, much less actually offered it. Generative AI is fundamentally insulting to human dignity. It doesn’t belong anywhere, and belongs least of all at a school of art.

Teaching AI music tools at a school that is supposed to be dedicated to improving your own skills as a musician is downright dystopian. A music school should be on the frontlines on protesting against an untested technology that has redefined plagiarism in music, not working to normalize it.
