I’m a high school musician and don’t want my college level peers to be treated with such disrespect.

As a musician, Suno specifically attacks the historical aspect of music and jeopardizes the future of not just music, but human culture itself

I am not a Berklee student, but as someone who very well could have been one, and as someone starting music school later this month, generative AI and music are two things that should have nothing to do with each other. Suno is a company that steals the work of musicians and sells a product that creates slop based off of it. Any self-respecting college should be able to recognize that and not put up with it.

You should teach humans being to be themselves and learn how to use their specific and unique aspect of their character to create something great. Not using the most easy and comfortable way, It Is called being a human being. We need to take our time and put efforts and time into learning something, taking shortcuts doesn't make you solid. It makes you weak. Don't be a fucking pussy.

AI is soulless and will never compare to what the human mind can achieve. Music is our own experiences, highs and lows and something a machine can NEVER replicate. I’m a student at Berklee and I want us to be better. Take down the class.

Any art, music, or literature that is “created by AI” is not respectable and is a bastardization of the craft. It is despicable for a music institution to insult their students with this class. As long as it is offered, nothing from Berklee can be respected. Hacks! Remove AI from the creative fields. Stop insulting literally everyone.

I’m about to be a freshman at Berklee in a few weeks and I find it extremely disheartening to see the school actively pushing a technology that completely undermines human creativity.

As a performing artist who's spent time, effort, and financial resources to gain and finetune my craft to make a career out of it, this is a huge slap to the face. Sure, making music from scratch takes way longer- however, that is how masterpieces are born. Through human ingenuity and skill and nuance and thoughtful choices backed by intentionality in order to share their truth, music made by sole human efforts resonate and expresses far more emotion than ai music ever could.
