What is beautiful about music is that it's human, and we have to honour and preserve that. Art lives thanks to the evolution of hundreds of years of human history and controlling an artificial intelligence to do as you want doesn't make you an artist, it just makes you dependent by a machine to express yourself, and in my opinion there's nothing more sad than this.

I enjoy making music, and I don't want this pleasure taken away from me to be marketed and turned into a conformity.

I am a Berklee alumn (1981-82). Extremely disappointed in this unethical, counterproductive, pedagogically irresponsible, anti-artist choice. Berklee has been and can be, and do better. Generative AI, and the corrupt companies promoting it, have no place at Berklee.

I am a musician and want to someday study at Berklee, and seeing this is just a slap in the face to my future and my whole career.

I am a music teacher and the goal of music is so much more than the end product. Making music is about community and self efficacy. Music is more than just the songs we listen to, it’s the songs we make that change our brains and our hearts.

The use of AI in the music industry is horrible and goes against the entire purpose of writing music, and the fact that a Berklee professor is supporting and teaching to his students to use Suno is outrageous.

The school should not be siding with this mentality.

AI art symbolizes everything I don’t believe in. It feels totally unethical and wrong.

First of all, the "AI is inevitable" rhetoric is wrong. Secondly, I am a composer, and having people not in the industry complain about it being too difficult need to either accept it's hard or that it's not for them. the endless forcing of AI is incredibly detrimental. It ruins the trust between professors and students, the environment, and our brains. And the audacity of this professor to say that the AI is better than his students fills me with such rage.

AI will never replace human art and creativity. The point is not the product, but the process. Fuck AI.

AI should not be utilized in the field of creating music - as music is a tool to help people find their own personal creativity in a way which differentiates from all other art forms.

Generative AI is an item that it's killing creative works and processes, including making music. Art should and must ALWAYS be human, neither way, it's not art. I find it unbelievable how one of the most well-known music academies aren't against AI and are even demanding to use it. They need to take it down right now, and fire the teacher of this class!

Using generative AI at a top music school is a slap to musicians everywhere, and the fact that his professor is willingly saying that it's better than the students is insane.

As a musician, this is gross

The messy process of making music is what makes it so beautiful. There is no place for AI in music making. This class is a disservice to Berklee students and an affront to the music industry.

Music is inherently human. Generative AI or AI in general has absolutely no place in creating a magic ineptly individual to the human mind.

Stop teaching Suno in school.
