It’s is an unfathomable idea that as a school as prestigious as Berkeley would even consider teaching AI music in their school. It’s frankly embarrassing. AI music is not music and takes no skill to create, real music is an art form that takes hard work and dedication. I am not necessarily anti-AI. In fact, I believe that AI will undoubtedly have a significant impact on all fields, including music. However, I don't think students at schools like Berklee need to take classes that simply use AI to generate a song. The way AI is used in these classes does not seem to make students better at playing or creating music. And, to be honest, what are you going to do? Bring your AI to gigs?
