I am a 101 year old citizen who has lived in SE Heights since 1949. This had gone from a good neighborhood to an inner city crime area in my lifetime. Please go somewhere else with your plans. We have literally had enough and cannot take anymore!!! We vote for the last location. And why couldn’t you just expand Joy Junction? They need and want the money!!

I am concerned that Kirtland AFB could be reduced or eliminated in a BRAC due to high crime areas and poor living conditions right outside the gates. This would be devastating to the city and the state. We in SE have done our share! Let other neighborhoods step up to the plate. Give us a chance to become whole again. Restart the voting and buy portions of the Academy school property for this shelter.

I am against the shelter coming to our district. Artistic has faced enough of the cities problems being dumped on us. We are trying to improve our communities and now you want to bring the shelter to us.

We in SE Heights have done more than our share taking care of homeless and persons with problems. Let another section of the city step up and do their share.

Such a large shelter should not be placed in such close proximity to any residential area, but especially not in such a vulnerable area. It has been documented by the city that we do not have enough police services in our neighborhoods, even though our crime rate is higher. We have a high senior population and already have a high population of homeless in our parks and streets. As stated in the petition, District 6 has more than shared the burden of undesirable businesses and services. If in fact you really do believe that we all need to share the load, then please start sharing the load with other parts of the city.

This shelter is too big for this pr any other location. It will have a bad effect on neighborhood, similar to the effects of the nearly 200 bed shelter in Santa Fe on Cerrillos. Open drug use and dealing on the nearby streets and parks, and crime. Police are called frequently. The services are needed, but the plan needs to be revised in favor multiple smaller units. This could easily become Mayor Keller’s ART Project.

This area has become so scary. We're seniors and shake many nights due to gunfire, fireworks, people in the alleys, filth thrown around. Please help us. NOT Lovelace!!!!!!!!!!!

Just the idea of a 300 bed facility in the middle of our neighborhood is incomprehensible.....Small outreach centers is more effective and will produce less impact on neighboring families and residents

I would think that the current pandemic situation would be cause for rethinking a mega-center that concentrates large populations in one area that is ill-equipped to provide adequate and appropriate services. It seems that spreading the services out across the city to be accessible to those who need them is a far wiser and effective alternative.
