Furthermore, Gibson Medical Center has existing tenants, which is contrary to your published criteria. Give us a break!

Please consider demolishing the old jail property and building the shelter there. The city owns the land and the location is central.

While i feel great sadness for the homeless among us, the city should be spending 14 million dollars running down the shameless predators who exploit them and us. Putting the Gateway Center on Gibson at the old aptly named “Loveless” hospital will put yet another terrible burden on this already blighted part of Albuquerque. There are plenty of locations that would more readily meet the needs of the homeless, the old Jail, the many abandoned hotels (like the one on Carlisle). Our neighborhoods were just beginning to gain some ground from the recession and ART, now with Coronavirus and the City delivering another 1-2 punch, what hope is there for this beautiful historic area that could be so great? Please put these plans on hold and take another look.
