The residents of the City of El Paso, TX request that City ordinance Chapter 18.46 - LANDSCAPE-18.46.140 - Fees in lieu of installation be eliminated. No waiver in lieu of installation shall be permitted by the citizens of El Paso, TX. All irrigation and landscape must be completed by the builder.
The current allowance for landscape waivers continues to shift the burden of installation away from those responsible for development. I am focusing my efforts on presenting these concerns to the city planning department to ensure that our standards for irrigation are no longer treated as optional.

The response to this petition confirms that many residents prioritize the enforcement of mandatory landscape standards. This level of engagement provides a clear signal that the community expects builders to fulfill their obligations without exception.

never have I ever seen El Paso in such sorry shape. Guess we are giving City Manager the money the city would usually make Northeast as pretty as it used to be.

Can’t walk on the sidewalk to get to my kids school to pick them up without being stabbed by stickers from the weeds. Requires you to walk on Marcus Uribe where there are cars lined up waiting to pick up their own kids, while other cars are driving by. Potentially getting hit. This is a serious safety concern for the parents and children.

The city needs to clean up their weeds. It looks like we live in a slum in NORTHEAST El Paso

It is utterly ridiculous to penalize residents for what the city is allowing in their areas of responsibility.. HUGE WEEDS IN PUBLIC AREAS AND ALONG ROADWAYS...SMH

Our neighborhood walkways need attention. When there are needs it tends to fall on deaf ears. Representatives in northeast are receiving a free check without performing there required duties.

We need to change this, there are thousands of elderly people and disabled veterans that should not have to pull weeds if they are on a main street and there is a wall separating the owners property from main streets.
