No Encampments in Seattle Parks

My children attend preschool at a local park and they don't get to fully appreciate the park because of the encampments

I grew up with Seattle Parks. The were a point of pride for the city. Now, they are unsafe. I’d never let my kids go near them without supervision.

I dislike how dirty this cities parks have become because we are allowing the homeless to reside in the parks. When you pass a homeless person "camping" in a city park they are destroying the park. They leave their syringes all around making it unsafe for others to use the area and they are urinating and deficating in the parks contaminating that area with who knows what diseases. My tax dollars support the parks and they are for eveyones use keep the parks open and safe for all of us to use.

I am disgusted by the filth of these tents and encampments. They are taking over Seattle. It is not the same Seattle that I used to love.

Get this trash out of our city. If they can't afford to live here, then move somewhere else. Or get a job.

Save us from this fate!

We take our children to these parks, and we are tired of seeing used needles, condoms, and human feces scattered around in the open in our parks

Our parks need to be saved. They should be safe and clean.

The City Council needs to act to protect our parks and green belts from the trash, pollution, and habitat destruction that happens when people are allowed to “camp” in the city.

KEEP THE LARKS CLEAN!

Democracy is government by the people and rule by the majority for all.

Greenlake is hardly useable anymore. There are human feces and empty bottles/trash everywhere. Public parks should be for the public to enjoy, not to be run out by a few.

I feel completely unsafe in many Seattle parks now. It's heart-breaking.

It is not legal to camp in a Seattle city park. Please consistently and immedaitely enforce these laws when violations are discovered or reported. This is the law and keeps the parks clean, safe and healthy for all residents to use.

Please keep in mind that we, the voters, need to choose council members who will protect our city and its assets. Our parks are one of the city's greatest assets. Pay attention to what candidates say about protecting our parks at the next and all city council elections.

I don't mind the camps so much but the trash that is associated with the camps is disgusting and dangerous. Needles and piles of defecation are hazardous to people that use the parks and to animals that inhabit the parks. Why is a rule only enforced on those who live at a street address and pay taxes? No city should use a double standard but it feels like Seattle is using one at times.

I cannot let my teenagers go to the park alone because of the wasted homeless campers and visitors, and the needles on the beautiful trails along the back part of the park. Totally unacceptable!

Protect our environment and the commitment we made to the community to keep Parks for all to enjoy. Enforce the rules for all. I used to adore walking my dog in the Carkeek woods trails and now I am scared to go there.

It's disgraceful that City government is not enforcing the laws and regulations meant to keep our shared spaces healthy and available to us by ceding them to law breakers who damage the environment and make it dangerous and unpleasant for the vast majority of law abiding citizens. The City must change course immediately and stop inhibiting the parks department from removing any encampment of whatever size immediately.

Enforcing this laws harms people more than it does preserve nature. Appropriation of park laws to marginalize rough sleepers is prejudice against the homeless poor.
