I just bought a vacant lot next to my home to prevent future building on it... and because we only had .9 usable at our home site.

Prince William County has had 10 ac. A-1 zoning in place since 1998. Last year the BOS commissioned a study to look at ways to changing the 10 ac. min zoning because it did nothing to protect the Rural areas and actually increased sprawl. Why does the Stafford BOS think that 10 ac. zoning would work here if its not working in Prince William?

I have owned my land in Stafford since 1978. I have been a timely tax payer since then and thought this would be a good long term investment. The Stafford Board of Supervisors, though adopting building restrictions, removing the "cluster development" potential and now by increasing the building lot size has clearly decreased the value of one of my largest investments. We need to elect supervisors that are "from here" and that value long time owners.

Vote these people out of office over this crippling idea! Who do they think they are? They obviously don't own any land that they cherish.

Please don't allow this. I just bought 17 acres with dreams of building 3 houses on it 2 of them to pay for my 3rd house completely!

This egregious governmental overreach is robbing citizens of Stafford county of their property rights and property value. We can have controlled growth without infringing on the rights of farmers and other larger-tract landowners. We are the ones who stay in this county generation after generation, thus lowering infrastructure costs.

This is not the answer. Stop rejecting development plans in the targeted growth area.

This proposal will destroy the plans of many rural landowners who have been good stewards of their Stafford County land for years. It will prevent those landowners, who have relied on the current zoning ordinances, from conveying 3 acre parcels to their children. Without this ability, very few children of rural landowners will be able to afford to remain as residents of the increasingly expensive Stafford County.
