Was planning opening a ltd company next year going to have a rethink now as I might aswel sign on the dole as they are given our hard earned money for doing sod all !

There is no joined up thinking in tax policy ,just tinkering and increasing complexity.
Taxpayers deserve to be able to manage their financial affairs over many years ,especially when they are moving towards retirement.
Changes such as this very materially affect those of us who have used small companies as a retirement vehicle rather than ISAs or Pensions.
Perhaps we should just spend it all and let the Government pick up the tab as we grow older.

A further pressure on people who by choice or force of circumstances, leave the secure world of self-employment and set up their own limited company - now to be crippled by extra taxes as well as the ongoing insecurity of running a business.

I agree try taxing the big corporations who are tax dodging specialists, not the little companies trying to make a living to support there families. It's hard enough without you giving with one hand and taking more with the other!

Whilst the Government states one of its foremost aims is to support the growth in the economy by assisting small businesses (note The Enterprise Bill recently published) this is yet another nail in the coffin of the small business owner. Surely we'd all be better off getting well paid jobs and saving the stress and responsibility of growing our own businesses?

This is taxing the same money twice: once by corporation tax, and now once again. That's the sort of thing Labour might do, but for the Conservatives to indulge in this sort of THEFT is most unfair and unexpected. I thought you supported small businesses; it's obvious now that you don't!

This is clearly not fair for small businesses drawing less than 50k per annum as dividends, this should penalise the larger businesses drawing more dividends and who can afford the larger taxes, or at least apply on the same sliding scale. I thought the Government wanted to help small businesses, not kill hem.

Bit unfair and disrespectful on my risk taking ability and a complete discouragement for budding entrepreneurs. In an already non-conducive entreprenurial country, this will have long term negative impact and further lead to stagnation in economy

How do these rules encourage small businesses to continue to incorporate and boost our fragile economy by hiring more staff? Small incentives such as being able to draw dividends (from profit - a fruit of their hard labour) is something which used to inspire new business owners who take big financial risks to go by themselves
