If people are discouraged from starting their own businesses the treasury will receive less in VAT and Corporation Tax

We are tired paying taxes without much savings, whereas people loot in corporates. NHS bosses, politicians, etc. Pls stop this nonsense...

As a small business owner with less profit, I don't want this rule in place.

And to think... we were the group who voluntarily reduced our income during a long recession in order to reduce redundancies and keep our business's running. Just when things are starting to get better and we have a chance to recover our losses and plug the hole in our pensions we're hit with more personal tax. Together with the hike in the minimum wage it would appear that the country is set for an exodus of Uk business to China and an influx of more migrants sending even more more out of our economy, as they provide a most comfortable life for their families in countries where the favourable exchange rates will turn their £9ph into 14 euros or 54 Polish Zloty's!

Why all working people should pay more??? This is killing the small business! Even more people will be better off work and leaving on benefits!!!

Husband runs a small business with all the risks that ensures and I helped my daughter to set up her own business ...Again a risky strategy! Persuaded her she will be better off working for herself (how wrong I was) and after a year looking to take on another employee. Won't be doing so now...no incentive! Thanks George...her generation will never vote Tory when they see you changing the goal posts all the time!

Lifelong Tory supporter because I was under the illusion you were the most 'pro' small business party. How wrong I was. I'll never make that mistake again.

And you thought IR35 was bad. Now you get penalised for taking the risk of setting up in business so now maximum risk zero benefit. Nevada incorporation here we all come then.

Taxing the wrong people - those who are working hard on growing small businesses & providing employment in local communities! Am I best just to fire my 2 staff and go get a £40k a year job? The figures would suggest so. Huge own-goal here....

George you're going after the people you're supposed to be encouraging. I saw no mention of this in your electioneering but it was brought in straight away after the election, very sneaky

Squeezing those that work the hardest is discrimination of the worst form.
