This is an awful idea. Combined with increases to NMW and auto enrolment coming in, its a giant kick to small business.

This is effectively a kiss of death to entrepreneurism. It will kill off small businesses and with it kill off the possibility of more jobs being created as this is what small businesses will no longer to be able to afford. It will be a massive blow to the City of London and its flexible work force – a huge number of those employed are employed on a contract or project basis and it will not be viable for people to work this way any longer. The headcounts for many large financial institutions providing these jobs are frozen which is why they cannot hire permanent staff.

The Conservative manifesto:
"We are on the side of small businesses, and are helping them however we can:
Cutting the jobs tax - saving businesses up to £2,000 and enabling them to provide more jobs for hardworking people..."
I calculate that this measure will cost your average family company £5,000 per year. It will totally confuse any taxpayer to try and work out how it works.
Appreciating that there is a deficit, how come private equity managers are still taxed under the capital gains regime and the public sector is given a 1% payrise?

Why tax small business owners more when it is they who create jobs and keep a substantial part of the UK economy going?

After 5 years struggling to make a living small business owners are rewarded with one of the biggest ever tax increases applied to any sector of the population.

So we'll leave banks alone, won't chase big business, ignore VAT fraud on all but the largest of cases, and chase small business owners who have not had wage increases, and worked harder for the same money year on year during the recession.

Don't increase the tax burden on small business owners, Corporation tax has already been paid on dividends.

Despite the small business owner making up a large number of the voting public (around 4million I believe), creating real jobs for real people and paying their fair share of taxes for creating their own wealth and not relying upon the State, we are all hit hard again. Perhaps we should all just apply for jobs in HMRC as they seem to be struggling to cope with the simplest of jobs such as answering the telephone according to the audit office, and then we could go after those avoiding taxes aggressively instead of planning to invest in our own futures. I am disgusted not disgruntled at this lack of support from the Government. My grandparents fought - literally- hard to allow their descendants an education to ensure they could earn their own living and yet we are faced with paying in every way. I am happy to support those less fortunate as I am lucky but NOT those avoiding their responsibilities..

Corporation tax has already been paid on dividends. This is the worst form of taxation - double taxation and hits small business owners

Don't increase the tax burden on small business owners! The gap in the rates of corporation tax for small and large businesses has already been reduced. Small businesses should not have to make up for the tax shortfall suffered by the government due to their decision to reduce tax for large companies!

I protest against the new dividend tax as it will encourage business owners to take all company reserves as they are being created than building safe reserves whic can withstand mark turmoil.
