Dividend income has already been taxed. There can be no justification for taxing it twice. Shareholders are the investors in UK plc and UK ltd. They should not be deterred from investing by being taxed twice.

We run our small business on the basis of getting dividends which allow us to invest our own money during they ear into the business. This helps keep people employed and our costs low to be able to compete.

It's not at all what we or our clients expected from the Conservative manifesto. Maybe should have voted differently.

Perhaps the PM would explain how this extra tax on small business fits in with the Conservative Party's manifesto which "proudly exclaimed", "We've come a long way from Labour's policies of higher taxes and more regulations, which cost business owners billions of pounds." and how about, "We are on the side of small businesses, and are helping them however we can" Pure hypocrisy!

This new rule will stifle small business owners. For hard work, the lower corporation tax is great but how are the owners going to extract the profits. And don't forget the double tax on the company profits. It is truly a joke.

This will really hit small business - and will make a lot of people think about setting out for themselves

Double taxation and impacts a large portion of the UK economy. SME's owners and contractors potentially will feel this hike the strongest.

This is double taxation. Corporation tax then dividend tax on top.

Having spent years in relative poverty while setting-up a small business, this is a real kick in the teeth. The Tories no longer support business (except big business maybe).

Small businesses owners are unpaid collectors of VAT and PAYE and often have to work long into the night on administration, being penalised if they get anything wrong or are late in filing. One benefit to all this unpaid work for the Government was that we were able to take income at lower tax rates. Now the Government is taking that benefit away. Will the Government now pay us a living wage for the work we do on its behalf?

These new tax rules are crazy, why penalise the people wanting to work hard and grow there small businesses. We already pay enough taxes in corporation taxes and higher rate taxes on Dividends. I just see greed. We are already Over taxed in this country. Give small companies and business people a break.

Double taxation on income. Simply unacceptable and unjust.

It's hardly worth running your own business via a company if you are taxed so heavily.

This is a serious disincentive for small business people.
