The government finally scrapped the dividend tax because we refused to let them pick our pockets. This win belongs to every one of the 723 people who stood their ground against these greedy bureaucrats. Keep your eyes sharp because we will be ready if they try this theft again.

After the Tory budget small business owners will find themselves with additional taxes to pay despite the reduction in Corporation Tax. The new dividend tax is the new double taxation small business owners will suffer on their income.
It is the typical ‘put some money in one hand then snatch more out the other’.

The Tories think they can rob us blind with this dividend tax trap while we are busy keeping the economy afloat. We are nearing five hundred signatures and need to shove this right back in their faces before they finalize this theft.

One hundred people have signed and the government still refuses to acknowledge this blatant theft. These bureaucrats think they can play games with our livelihoods while we struggle to keep our businesses afloat.

Taxing the wrong people - those who are working hard on growing small businesses & providing employment in local communities! Am I best just to fire my 2 staff and go get a £40k a year job? The figures would suggest so. Huge own-goal here....
so when I am off on mat leave this will completely change how I pay myself that year. Obviously I won't be earning any money and I wasn't planning on asking for any stat mat pay but maybe I will need to reconsider as I will not be able to pay myself as much. Great work.
And to think I voted for the Tories. I just do not know how they expect us to save for our old age! Feel like spending every penny and they can look after me in my old age. What incentive is there for anyone to set up their own business nowadays unless of course it's Starbucks!
The new dividend taxation is likely to discourage the "entrepreneurial minded" to invest as any recourse will be taxable. Similarly, the increase on taxation will negatively impact small business owners who draw dividends to keep their overall costs down.
As an accountant serving many small family companies in a rural area, this is going to have a huge impact on most of them. The worst thing is the way that this seems to have slipped under the radar. A true stealth tax.
Why have small businesses suffer??
This needs reconsideration by government- we have invested all our money into a business and employ people , and work far more hours than most , on average over 60 hours a week!!!

There is very little in this budget to encourage smaller owner managed companies. It is hard to see smaller limited companies rushing to create new jobs given the additional costs arising from the dividend tax and Auto Enrolment pensions.
