The proposal to reinstate deputy ministers has been officially set aside. It is encouraging to see that the burden on our national budget will not increase in this unnecessary way. I appreciate that so many people stood firm on the importance of fiscal responsibility.

Zambians welcomed the removal of Deputy Ministers in the amended constitution because the office was expensive and of no real benefit to the nation.Citizens whose names are appended to this petition therefore protest in the strongest terms Parliament's decision to re-amend the constitution to bring them back.

Let's get serious and come up with a constitution that will sand the test of time. Only a few months ago millions of kwacha was spent at a signing in ceremony at Hero's Stadium. These MPs must stop wasteful expenditure. No Deputy Minister this matter is closed.
It is costly and should not be tolerated. One minister is enough with people underneath him assisting. We do not have the money to have deputies. If the one minister cant do the job get someone who can do the job without a deputy minister. Papa G
We can no longer allow tax payers money to be misused. This country needs every penny to build everything that has collapsed and certainly deputy ministers pay will push us more steps backwards. The current government structures are adequate to deliver.
This very expensive for Zambia and currently things are not too well.Plus just keeping deputy Ministers is very costly that money can be used to bring more medicine and build more hospitals.Permanent Secretaries can do the job just fine.
We removed subsidies to reduce government expenditure. But why bring another expenditure to government of deputy ministers who are just robots to the ministry since there is PS & minister 7 already President has allowed to increase cabinet.

The Zambian economy is in dire straits and the least any responsible, self respecting govt should be doing is to cut costs starting from the top. But what we are seeing demonstrates a serious lack of respect for the people and alarming levels of selfishness.
