Say “NO” to a Day of Action on Islamophobia in Canada

M-103 and the proposed actions further divide the Canadian culture by identifying/naming and proposing that one particular, exotic culture be more protected than any other in this country. Furthermore it fails to clearly define the said term "islamophobia". As a concerned citizen, I demand that all persons from all religious beliefs receive equal recognition and protection, and that it not favor one religion over another.

M-103 is discriminatory to everyone other than Muslims who need to fit in and assimilate with this country and it's customs and traditions. It is NOT up to us that were born and raised here to adjust to them.

It is discriminatory to single one group out over all others. The Liberal leadership made a big point during the election campaign that they don't discriminate by asking questions about ethnic and religious background. They should follow through in their governance by not singling out 'Islamophobia' - especially when statistics show that Muslims are not the most targeted group in Canada for hate crimes. No bigotry should be tolerated against anyone - period. Our laws already cover this. We don't need anything more.

I think it would be rude to say "Canada for Canadians" as so many are immigrants here, but to say that Canadians have no rights unless they are Islamic is so wrong in so many ways I don't know where to begin.

If you want to build a wall go to America! Bill 103 is a wall. Why create a problem when there isn't one?

Canadian people are very welcoming to all who come here and I take great offence as an immigrant myself to the manipulated idea that there is systematic racism here.

Did our soldiers who died in WW1&2 to defend freedom of speech and thought die for nothing? Look at all the Jews and other peoples who were killed under hitler. From what truDOLT is doing we're getting back into this. No funds for wounded Vets but $40M for returning ISIS fighters!!!! Outrageous

Unless M 103 includes all faith including Judaism and Christianity, thiscisca non starter. Our government seems completely oblivious to all citizens. A national day of recognition for one group may actually create the opposite effect other than the one desired. If a Canadian value set out by the Prime Minister is diversity then such a day is not needed in our country. I fear the loss of the Canada wherein I grew up.
