Stop the data centers! Why would San Marcos vote in support of something that is so detrimental to our area?

As we are fast approaching extreme drought restrictions, it is beyond irresponsible for the City of San Marcos to be pushing for this water thirsty and energy intensive development. The natural gas extraction and energy production required for data centers will consume vastly more water than just water use on site. We need governance that respects the natural world on which our lives depend.

The water scenario in our region and the greater areas is worsening consistently. A crisis is looming and there will be irreversible effects if matters are not addressed. Data centers have no place being constructed in areas that are in such a critical state.

I am concerned about the additional strain on our water supply which is also challenged by growing population and electrical power shortages during peak demand related to freezing and extremely high summer temperature.
In addition our bills for power and water are likely to rise.

We do not need a data center reducing our water resources even further in this city OR county. We want support for our ecosystem and water health, not data centers.
Data Centers use too much of our water.
