As a completely blind individual I use data and AI in my life everyday for accessibility purposes. I recognize the need for *SOME* data centers. However, we do not need this hyper proliferation of data centers. Also, there is a data/AI tech bubble that *WILL* burst. This is going to be a disaster for communities. And this is on top of the well documented environmental and economic damage data centers do to the communities they are built in. Central Texas has been in constant drought conditions for years. The Texas power grid cannot handle the load. My accessibility is not worth the price.

NO Data Centers please as a 50 year resident of SM, and a concerned citizen, I strongly urge you to defend our resources and community from developers! I vote based on prior performance and will not support elected officials in the future who do not stand strong against data centers now and in the future.

I spoke against the data center. The tremendous outcry was against the data centers. The city council still approved them. Could Elon Musk who has a home and complex in Bastrop have influenced the city council? It's obvious that San Marcos being in stage 4 drought cannot give up our water. Also adds more electricity brownouts. The construction of the data centers displaces our precious dwindling wildlife. Why don't they care about any of these subjects? Hmmm.

I own a business here and live here. I love San Marcos so much, but we are already running out of water. Would the increase of water usage not violate the law stating we cannot grant more in-stream water rights? The flow rate of the river continues to diminish- we cannot tax it further. We are creating too many large scale non-permeable surfaces, so when it does rain the water has nowhere to go. This will worsen flooding issues.

Our environment is too fragile to continue building structures without proper regulation and oversight that will continue to drain our dwindling natural resources.

Our state is running out of water without more reasons for this to worsen. A data center would further deplete our water availability and disrupt our ecosystem.

As a Hays County resident, I strongly oppose the construction of data centers in an area that is already suffering from drought conditions. A data center would further deplete our water availability and disrupt the fragile remains of our ecosystem.
