We do not have the resources and affordability for them already. We need our energy and water bills to go down not up with no end in site! The community resoundingly is against the data centers being built for that reason! We have no water and are in stage 4 restrictions already!

We’re killing ourselves for unproven technology. It’s raising prices, depleting resources, for something which best case scenario only enriches the super rich, destroys livelihoods and makes things go faster. It’s not worth it.

This is contentious for a reason. We need more information and protections in place before we allow industry like this into the area. We already have a water, energy grid strain. Researching other communities with data centers around the US gives a bleak picture for what this means for the average citizen. San Marcos’ environment is so special and irreplaceable. Let’s keep it that way.
