I strongly appose a data center being developed in San Marcos. Our water is too precious to lose.

We need to prioritize protecting wildlife, natural spaces, and our sacred springs by safeguarding the air and water in our communities. No more water and energy consumption for corporate greed; STOP the proliferation of AI data centers here in Central Texas!

As a region, we are not equipped to handle the demand these kinds of developments bring, both in terms of water and energy. The impacts of data centers will be felt for many years to come and the impact they will have on future generations is unprecedented. As a region, we need to do what we can to stop these kinds of developments from impacting community members for generations to come.

We do not need or want data centers. They will harm the environment and steal needed water from homeowners and other residents. Damage would be irreversible.

I am strongly against the establishment of another data center. Though I reside in Travis county, pressure from these AI data centers on water resources that continue to reach historic lows is very apparent. I am originally from Cameron County where AI data centers are threatening water resources from the EXTREMELY pressured Rio Grande River. I have spoken up for Cameron County and wish to speak up for Hays County, a county whose water resources have already been under threat. AI data centers put unnecessary pressure on water resources for convenience. It makes no sense to support the installation of a data center to support human convenience over prioritizing the health and livelihoods of the people of Hays County. NO DATA CENTER.

We must support the preservation of our water supply for the residents, not the corporate interests. Data centers may represent a business opportunity, but they don't support the living needs of the residents of this city and county. I strongly oppose the continued abuse of our water and power supply in the interest of corporate profits. We do not have enough water for our own needs, and do not need to have increased expenses on the ordinary citizens for the benefit of outside parties seeking their own gain.

We indigenous people, Coahuiltecan people, are still here. Our waters, every river, lake, stream, spring, are sacred sights that are a part of our rich and connected creation stories and history. We can not allow nor afford data centers in or around our lands. For the sake of the future, and our children’s future, we depend in a reciprocal relationship with these waters. As do all humans and God creations. We do not depend reciprocally with data centers, AI. It does not feed, nourish, and heal us. Our waters do. Our ecosystem does. God please, we pray, that you hear our Olea and reverence to protect these waters you have gifted us to care for. Our ancestral waters need us to advocate. In Jesus name we pray to deny, big NO, to these centers being built on, near, around these lands. Make a way for them elsewhere , and elsewhere let it bring no harm or depletion to our homes and ecosystems.
