AI data centers are harmful to the overall well being of the communities they are built in, especially in water-compromised areas. The council must prioritize the health and water of its residents. Vote NO

As a longtime resident and business owner in San Marcos, I do not believe that data centers are good for our city, county, or the community at large.

As a contributing Texas State alumna, a former resident of San Marcos, and a regular central Texas visitor, I do not want AI data centers built anywhere near the city or its surrounding regions. Please do not allow limited temporary financial gain to devastate the already fragile aquatic ecosystem. It will ruin the city, drive residents out, and further disenfranchise those that cannot leave. If you do not believe this sentiment, all you have to do is look at the other cities in Texas that have allowed these data centers and no longer have clean drinking water for their communities. AI, as it exists currently, is wholly unethical and needs to be regulated by the government. Until that happens, it’s your duty to protect the water in your own city.

Central Texas in general does not have the resources or infrastructure to support data centers with water OR power.

I am concerned about this data center going in due to our dwindling water resources.

Texas is running out of water and we don't need corporations stealing our resources. Approving a data center would be tragic and short sighted. We must protect the resources we still have for ourselves and future generations. This doesn't have to happen. No one wants this.

While I do not live in the San Marcos area, it is still a special place for me as a home grown Texan. These places need to be protected for future generations. Not just those that are human. This is for continuing generations of the plants and animals that rely on these sacred sources of water and the delicate ecosystems they are home to.
