There is no place here or anywhere for a group that brings hate, divisiveness, bigotry, racism, homophobia, and threats of violence. Do not allow this sickness to spread.

The radical, dangerous ideology and actions of the Awaken Church offer nothing positive to Coronado. Of even more concern are the propaganda, conspiracy theories, hatred, and political extremism they spread everywhere they go.

We Islanders are a multi-cultural seaside community of courage and character with our most decorated and humble warrior-neighbours to the left and right and across the street from us, an island of scholars maintaining highest tiers of academic excellence for our youth, an island of spiritual strength with our faith leadership promoting humanity and compassion, a hybrid of artists, gardeners, surfers, musicians, firemen, police, health care workers, yogis, small business owners, military families, and veterans who gather annually in pride for our nation's most phenomenal Fourth of July parade.

Get out of our town. I know more people who are in it than you think. You aren’t invisible. We all know what you are trying to do.

And through covetousness shall they (greedy false teachers in the end time) with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not (2 Perter 2:3)For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive (Romans 16:18). For we are not like so many others, who peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as men sent from God (2 Corinthians 2:17). and constant friction between men of depraved mind who are devoid of the truth. These men regard godliness as a means of gain (1 Timothy 6:5). You would even cast lots for an orphan and barter away your friend (Job 6:27).

I attended this Church and they constantly make racist jokes. They’ve created an entire culture on offense. They pride themselves in offending others. They flaunt their wealth, without an ounce of class. They disparage the poor. They actively voice their disgust against the homeless and the lost of this city. Imagine . The very people they were sent to save. I ask you ? Are these people they insult and revile, not worthy of a savior? Political preferences, aside? Most politicians are (to some degree or other) guilty of corruption and greed. To show partiality to any, is to make a mockery of the gospel. I understand having conservative values. I hold them myself. However , these people have turned these values into a circus. Pharisees, preaching that the law (in this case the constitution) leads to salvation. All while excusing racist, anti-semitism, hatred, greed and corruption. Say NO ! Coronado! You can google it yourself.

There are enough disruptive cultists and anti-democratic extremist groups in this country already! Do we really need to help cultivate MORE hate, especially in our peaceful town???

Do not allow Awaken Church to take up residence in Coronado - the bigoted and hateful "prophesies" of this church have no place in our home city.

As a resident of Coronado, I am committed to building a community of diversity and inclusion. Awaken church is invested in an us vs. them mentality that will alienate many members of our community.
