I live in Magnolia Falls and want my kids to be left where they were when we moved here. We moved for the schools. Keep them at Gentry.

Jeff will not be overcrowded we have 547 students now and if we add 150 students to our school which is 50 for each grade then we will have 697 students and jeff's maximum is 750 students

Jeff may be older but the hallways are actually fairly wide and I pass Gentry to get to Jeff so your kid is not above me so he/she can pass Gentry to go to Jeff if I do also!!!!!!

Wow this is ridiculous I am a 7th grader at Jeff and I live on the street that Woodcrest Chapel is located upon. I live exactly 4 minutes 30 seconds from Gentry and 7 minutes from RBHS. None of you people cared when it was me and all of the other kids that live on the right side of Nifong went to jeff when it became a middle school so stop acting like it is the end of the world. Me and many other kids who live less than 8 minutes from Gentry go to Jeff which is a 25 minute drive from my home and many others homes as well. We wake up at 5:00 to 5:30 just to catch the bus. So your kids should not have a problem. If my parents need to pick me up due to illness or anything they drive 25 minutes while for Gentry they drive 5 minutes. So that is what I call unfair but at the end of the day JMS is a great school it might of not been the best junior high but it is the BEST middle school in Columbia. After all Jeff had better test scores that Gentry and every other middle schools. And don't even get me started on teachers because we have the best ones of those also. I must admit I wasn't to keen on going to Jeff because all of my Mill Creek friends went to Gentry but I made not just friends at Jeff I made best friends. That is why you should be happy to go to Jefferson Middle School and plus its not like you won't ever see your Gentry friends again but you will make a lot more at Jeff.

Please keep SW neighborhoods in South schools, keeping kids close to their schools benefits the children. We chose to live in our neighborhood largely based on Gentry & RBHS. CPS is big on 'neighborhood school' mentality and this is absolutely NOT consistent with that. Better planning is needed.

I do not support this boundary change. I have already had 2 students go to Gentry and therefore know many of the teachers and faculty and do not want my 3rd child to go to a different middle school. I cannot believe the lack of planning in this city when it comes to building schools to accommodate population increase. I don't understand why it takes so long to get a school built here. I've never had this issue anywhere else I have lived.

The disruption of our kids is not acceptable. Our household alone has an older child watching a younger omafter school that will no longer be possible. Not to mention after school activities that will be impossible with the time constraints. Putting them at a school 30min away, while passing another is not the answer! Jeff is an older school, with narrow hallways and should not be put under this duress either.

This change does not appear consistent with guiding principles 3, 4 or 5 set by the Board of Education. More time is needed to evaluate long term solutions that will allow the School Board as well as the parents of the district to reasonably plan for the future.

The lack of impact planning and failure to follow written processes/policies in place by the school district should disqualify this pending move automatically. If due process can't be followed - the processes put in place to protect the children and their families, legal action must and will be taken to block any changes that result from failure to go through the due process.
