This undermines the effort to get away from burning coal, finish the Great Redwood Trail as well as all of the negative environmental impact to Sonoma County caused by transporting coal by rail.

Coal is detrimental to our efforts to fight climate change. We should not be exporting it at all.

Perpetuating coal is just wrong. Plus there are other environmental issues with transporting the coal through Sonoma County.

It is too late in the history of fossil fuel pollution of our atmosphere—the global atmosphere—to allow this to go forward. The evidence that burning coal contributes to climate change is too powerful, too present to be ignored. Stop this project now.

The potential negative impacts of this coal train far outweighs any potential positive impacts for the millions of people along the train route. The investors in this plan would likely get a reasonable ROI on clean/renewable energy investments instead. And they would sleep better at night as well!

Climate Change is a world-wide problem and we should not contribute to it. Stop digging up coal! Let's export clean energy technology.

If we are to stop the destruction of our natural waterways (what little are left) this cannot be allowed. Move away from dirty coal that is killing thousands of people every year.

I could not be more taken aback by this scheme. Coal is a fuel of the past that has put the future in jeopardy. This train must be stopped.
