PM 2.5 from coal is linked to increased Alzheimer's and dementia. (Communicated by Dr. Al Sears)“ A new study found that older women who lived in areas of high pollution were 81% more likely to experience cognitive decline and 92% more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease than those who live in less polluted areas… And that 20% of dementia cases worldwide may be due to air pollution.” 3. Coal is obsolete. Why would we build new infrastructure and destroy the redwoods that support our lives and provide clean air.

Humans need to stop mining coal if the planet is to survive. Any project that facilitates more coal is stupid and criminal.

This whole situation does not make sense. Why would anyone ship coal on a rail system that is broken down? It seems more common sense that they would ship it to the Port of Stockton to load on ships to travel out through the San Francisco Bay.

How can anyone justify use of coal as our fight to save the planet heats up!? Using coal in today's day and age is an atrocity!

This infuriates me as solar is part of the answer to global warming. It will discourage middle class folk from installing solar. Frankly, I’m in favor of making PG&E a public utility. Get rid of this private ownership.
