I am against any coal industry accommodation allowing coal transport through Humboldt County, or any part of the state of California, and am watching what legislators and elected officials do with respect to this issue. I will vote against any elected official who supports the coal industry in any way for the rest of my life, and vigorously urge others to do the same. This is a political third rail: touch it and you will become unelectable.

It has taken so much work to get the Redwood Trail underway it would be horrific to go backwards and cause more harm to the environment through attempts to use the old rail line again for transport. Anything that expands coal mining must be viewed as completely uninformed and predominantly 100% greed.
