I am graduating in December and oh boy, did those breaks helped me so much and I don't have kids and don't work a full time job outside of the program. I can't even imagine how the majority of my fellow students must feel that do have those responsibilities. This is such a rigorous program for teachers and students, we all deserve breaks and making people work that much harder for such a small gain to get us out 'faster' lacks any empathy or feeling towards the people that make NU what it is.

I'm not about to play with NU and these 1-week breaks! If they take them away, I will most definitely look for another online school that offers the same program. If they are Broke, they should just say that! That's why they denied me the 6,000 scholarship, "Due to the limited availability of funding." Taking away the only time we get a mental break from this accelerated program is CRAZY. I'm not the one or the two. Try Jesus, don't try ME!

I agree that breaks to recharge are imperative to success in any program.

These very much needed breaks significantly help in the overall process of managing the attainment of a Master's degree. Please do NOT remove these.

I believe this is the problem with private institutions. The less time we have for break, the more quickly they can get their money or bring in more students. Also, greed is probably the reason they tacked on the "materials" fee.

I will be graduating from the MAC program in July, and I have a young child. I promised him we would be attending his favorite Family Camp together, as has been our ritual for 5 years. Having this time with my child to create memories is critical to our bond. Already I am missing out on his baseball activities due to school and internship, and the one summer activity that we have together is a lifesaver and a cherished event that he- and I -look forward to all year. Taking away our breaks is harmful to students and families.

This should be a decision that students are making not the school.

The level of work coupled with the deeply personal type of content we are dealing with can be exhausting mentally. Having little breaks throughout the year ensures that we are bringing out best selves to our work and patients.

Please do not take away our breaks. They are essential for self-care and recovery time and are already extremely limited.

I learned in PSY 644C that self-care is a non-negotiable responsibility of any therapist in order to carry out ethical practice of psychotherapy. I believe the institution should practice what it teaches.
Faster isn’t better. Who does this decision benefit; and is it even a “who,” or is it a bottom line on a spreadsheet?

Those with a family deserve the right to have a break to spend time with them. Do not take this away for the sake of our children, the future generation.

Please don't take the only three breaks we get out of this program. It is much needed and appreciated, as we are already cut thin.

We deserve a break. Taking this away from students (and teachers) would be wrong.
