When adults wear a diapers to avoid getting up and losing their place at the slots, how can gambling be considered something positive.

I moved to Sudbury five years ago from Windsor, Ontario, one of the first communities where the provincial government funded a casino. It's not the end all to be all and it's had to re-brand itself with Cesar's in order to become viable with high profile concerts. It's not a great long term investment in our community, which will actually take business away from our local economy. There are other smarter investments our city can invest in.

Research does not lie. Rather than a casino, let's create a place for people to connect in MEANINGFUL ways.

NO to Casino for all the reasons outlined already. Just a VERY stupid idea considering the blood and entrails left in its wake.

As both a citizen and council candidate, I honestly believe that Sudbury needs a focus on real growth opportunities instead of cash grabs like a new casino, which is why I signed this petition.

A casino in downtown Sudbury is antithetical to the progress and vision of those leading the charge to make Sudbury more vibrant.

Gambling is over all not beneficial for Sudbury, or any society!
-Proven to cause increases in suicide in communities
-Cause the poor to become more poor
-Gambling is proven to be an addiction that has a direct correlation with many crimes and relationship and family breakups.
