Why don't these people, that think a carbon tax is a good idea, why don't they sell their cars and ride bicycles to work in January and heat their houses with only wood that was cut and split by hand, and cook over an open fire. That would be a bigger benefit to their cause than taxing even more those already struggling to survive in this high-tax state.

this would be absolutely disasterous! Everyone running for office should be asked this yes or NO question: 'Do you support this Carbon Tax' - if they hem and haw or say yes or Maybe, do NOT vote for these people!

This is yet another insane leftist idea, entirely without roots in reality. Vermont needs FEWER TAXES NOT MORE AS IT IS ALREADY. Downsize government, slash taxes, and LET THE MARKET BREATHE! We might actually have some decent-paying jobs available then.

I do not support the carbon tax. Homeowners with bear the full cost as businesses pass on the tax as increased costs to them.

first middle class vermonters can't afford higher cost of living, if you increase fuel tax businesses will pass on their increased expenses to consumers. second if you increase the cost of fuel oil and kerosene vermonters will burn more wood, more pellets, which doesn't seem like that would decrease pollution. and by the way, if the fuel prices go up doesn't that mean that the state will have to increase its fuel assistance money?

please stop the tax, we have already lost one income to a monthly fixed disability, we are barely hanging on now, this increase would put us in an awful position
