This will ruin Vermont! It will not generate more money as people will buy gas in surrounding states. People will not be able to afford to live here.

As a candidate for the Vermont House in Windham 4 I will never support this regressive tax. The people have had enough and no one can afford this kind of thing. Especially the in firmed and elderly.

It is not fair that this is required to live and I pay for it myself by working and you just want me to pay more. Lawmakers are pushing me and my family out of Vermont.

Taxing heating fuel and gasoline is a slap in the face for hard working folks in Vermont. In small towns many residents must drive at least 60 miles or more a day to get to their jobs. Heating fuel costs are very high for the average homeowner and worker. Many residents keep try and keep their heating costs low by keeping the furnace stat at the costs of their families always being cold. This is not fair to any of us. Where do you want the extra funds to go? Welfare is at a record high in Vermont and many of those could work, but choose not to. Why should the working and retirees pay for those who do not want to work and just live off of us. I am tired of giving the money I earned to welfare, I am very sympathetic to those who really are in need and am willing to help those folks. It is time that the State look over the welfare system and fix it now. Taxes will not fix it, just makes it easier for those who do not want to work. Alexandra Clark, Jamaica, VT

Stop taxes on carbon in fuel. We pay enough taxes. Use the money the usa citizens pay for taxes already for the usa instead of helping others countries where. We are hurting. USA Americans are hurting....
