this tax, and I ask you to reconsider your support for this tax. This is not the time to propose such a burden on the people of Vermont, You would be doing a disservice to all Vermonters. Think about what you are doing.

Vermont already has one of the highest costs of living in the United States. People and business are fleeing the State. The carbon tax will accelerate the migration.

Vermonters cannot afford this. why do you think this is a good idea.? what do you plan to do with all the revenue? property taxes are way over the top in Vermont. you cannot continue to tax and spend.vermonters are fed up with your liberal thinking. time for big changes in Montpelier.
I live l5 miles from the NY border. all my purchases of oil and gas will go there if this becomes law.

It is ridiculous to think that some of our elected Vermont lawmakers are trying to force us to stop using gasoline, heating oil, diesel fuel and propane by making it more expensive with a proposed additional $1.00 Carbon Tax to each gallon with this added tax. When you are filling your vehicle with fuel, think about adding that $1/gallon tax. When you are ordering fuel to heat your home, think about that extra $1/gallon tax. Take today's price you pay for the very things you need to survive and think about the added expense you will have to pay with this Carbon Tax. We cannot afford this added tax. Those pushing for this tax want you to use electricity to heat your home. The private citizen that is buying our lawmakers and is pushing for this law stands to make millions of dollars with his alternative energy company. Those lawmakers say you need to drive your car less. The Carbon Tax will force some folks to move from the rural areas in to the town's and cities because those people will not be able to afford to drive. In my opinion, over the past 10 years there has been an increase in those growing their own food and buying local products without added taxes. Under this proposed law, products and food shipped by truck or rail are going to be more expensive because the shipping and trucking companies will need to raise their rates. In my opinion, over the last 10 years heating equipment has become more efficient using less fuel and producing fewer emissions without a Carbon Tax. Send the message to your lawmakers that we, as Vermonters do not want to pay more to use the very things needed to live here. Sign this petition today. Say NO to the Carbon Tax. Vote NO to any lawmaker that supports this Carbon Tax. Vote NO to any lawmaker that wants to make life in Vermont more expensive than it is already. Please sign the petition.

I'm a small business owner who travels all over VT, NY and NH. This will not only impact my expenses but will also effect my customer rates.
