They need to be held accountable for spending our money to begin with. Until then they can't justify adding another tax.

This tax will hurt more people than imaginable! I am fortunate to live by another state border and I WILL seek my gas and oil products from this neighboring state. This will have an impact on the small and local people that are trying to make a living in the state of Vermont. Also, you cannot force people to buy new cars that are electric when there is NO where to recharge nor can you "encourage" public transportation where it DOES NOT exist!

Its hard enough to attract business in vermont now What kind of impact will this have on tourism? I hate to be cynical but i cant help thinking this is what montpelier thinks is an easy way to spend more and still be able to balance their budget

I support sustainability but I feel that this tax will be unfair to the poor and retirees on fixed incomes who have no capacity to absorb this added living expense. Make solar energy cheaper for us.

Has any of you spent any time in the small towns of Vermont? There is no way people can "walk" to and from places. This is a very good way to deplete the population on Vermont. Please do not consider signing this bill into law.

While I support sustainability, I believe that taxing fuels will harm our state's most vulnerable: the poor. Furthermore, families on the brink of poverty will no doubt be forced to succumb due to higher heating and traveling expenses. Already we subsidize families who can not afford to meet their heating bills, will we not have to increase that subsidy when prices rise?

This is nothing more than an attempt by our so called Representatives to put more tax money into the State coffers. The entire argument on climate change is rubbish and based on bad science and scare tactics. A fuel surcharge tax of this magnitude will finish off the Family Farms for sure and drive business out of the State. Look at New York people and learn from their mistakes!!
