Vermont is becoming much too. expensive to live here..We can not continue to find new things to tax...spending levels are not sustainable...Time for fiscal responsibility

Vermonters are finally getting some relief in heating fuel prices. Why would you want to put undue stress on our rebounding economy? I for one am dead set against this tax. Why should we be punished for being warm. Is there a cost effective alternative without changing our heating systems? Who pays for the new equipment/conversion that would be required? This is just another example of our misguided government working against the common man, not for him.

Thank you for making us aware of this new proposed tax. As a single mom who works full time, it's already difficult for me to heat my home and afford gas to get me to my place of employment 40ish miles away each day. I have weatherized as much as I can and I keep my house quite cool when we are home and even colder when we are not. I love living in the Green State of Vermont, but would not be able to afford to if this tax is passed.

being that this is a rural state public transportation is a moot point in the country and a lot of people are already on the brink of bankruptcy. To tax people to the point of leaving the state because they can't afford to retrofit their heating systems is absolute nonsense.

VT is a rural state in which you need a car to get to work for a majority of the residents.I'm assuming you want to go to work. Heating your home is expensive with oil ,propane,etc. and is the only alternative for many residents and is not as cheap as in many states that have natural gas.Let's burn more wood that will help with air pollution.
The Carbon Pollution Tax would have negative impact on low income individuals and families in particular and the elderly that are struggling to make ends meet.
It's hard to believe that the representatives that support this do not understand this. They do not represent the people.

We are retired Seniors.Too expensive to change our heating system at this time in our lives.We need to run errands and go to appointments and we are not buying an electric car.

In a state with virtually no effective public transportation, large distances between services and extremely cold winters- any fuel tax is evil. To reduce emissions- increase efficiency by providing direct $ for $ tax reductions!

With this tax increase along with having to start paying on student loans we will never be able to heat our home and we can't afford to put in a pellet stove.

This is one the most idiotic things I have ever heard...people pay a carbon tax when their check engine light comes on all the time do to all the emissions junk that's on them...and their will soon be more..price out the money everyone a year spends on that so their check engine light stays off..Just start taxing the air we breath. Your taxing people out of VT, think ya don't have enough money now...wait till people move out of state and not pay any of VT taxes !!

Any politician supporting this tax will never get my vote. I have been working hard to inform hundreds of hard working Vermonters about this tax. More importantly I am furnishing the list of politicians that support this tax. The goal is to make sure they are out of office as soon as possible.
